In the midst of this busy and crammed port city, this park was a quiet refuge. Although 'quiet' in Korea means no traffic noise, but still many people! The nice thing about Korea is that so many people of all ages use the public facilities. Unlike home, where most parks are used for drug dealing and other bad stuff!

I recent the comment on the use of parks here in Canada. Lots of parks are used for walking dogs, festivals, busking, suntanning or cross country skiing. Are there dogs in korea? or is that the mystery meat in the lates dish you tried from the corner vendor?

Nev... would you let your kids hang out in the park unattended? For example, the guy who was poisoning dogs in Saskatoon, would you want your kid stumbling upon a hot dog filled with deadly chemical?

If you look at any major park in Canada it is used for those things I said, why else would there be an information campaign for children about the dangers of finding used needles? And where is the most likely place to find used needles? I suppose these things happen especially at night, and way more people DO use the parks for their intended purpose, than for bad things. Regardless the more parks the better.

I just mean that that bad stuff doesn't really happen here in Korea, like at home, at least not in public. About the worst you'd see in a Korean park is a drunk guy sleepng the night off. So, in contrast to home, I'd let my 'hypothetical' kids play in the park unattended far quicker than I would at home.

I just wouldn't let them eat from that street vendor.
